How to insert Widex hearing aids in the ear

  1. Prepare the hearing aid

    Identify the left and right aids; blue for the left and red for the right.

  2. Position the earpiece

    Gently align the earpiece with the ear canal, using your other hand to pull the ear back to help with insertion lightly.

  3. Secure the hearing aid

    If you have a behind-the-ear (BTE) or receive-in-canal (RIC) hearing aids, place the body of the hearing aid behind the ear and adjust for comfort.

How to take off Widex hearing aids

  1. In-the-ear (ITE hearing aids)

    - Gently push up behind your earlobe to release the hearing aid.

    - If the hearing aid has a pin, grasp it with your thumb and forefinger and pull gently.

  2. Behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids 

    - Grasp the top of the hearing aid to remove it from behind your ear.

    - Using your thumb and forefinger, grasp the earmold and gently pull or twist it out.

Non-rechargeable models:

  • Insert the battery: Ensure the battery is properly inserted and the battery door is closed.

  • Activate: For most models, closing the battery compartment will automatically turn the hearing aid on.

  • Some models might have a button that you press to turn them on.

How to turn OFF

  • Open the battery compartment door. This disconnects the battery and powers down the hearing aid.

 

Rechargeable models:

How to turn ON

  • Make sure they are fully charged, and simply take them out of the charger.

How to turn OFF

  • Simply place them in their charging station, and they will turn off automatically.
Resetting/restarting Widex hearing aids

How to reset/restart Widex hearing aids

Rechargeable Widex hearing aids:

1. Press the button on the hearing aid for six seconds to turn it off, and again for six seconds to turn it back on.

2. If they hearing aids don't restart, put them n the charger for 10 seconds or until the lights flash green. 

3. Repeat a second time if the hearing aids do not automatically connect after the first time.


Non-rechargeable Widex hearing aids:

1. Open the battery compartment to turn off the hearing aid.

2. Wait about 5–10 seconds to ensure the device powers down completely.

3. Ensure the battery is properly aligned.

4. Close the battery compartment.

Adjusting volume on Widex hearing aids

How to adjust Widex hearing aid volume

For models with physical buttons: Locate the volume control buttons on your hearing aids (usually small buttons on the casing).

  • Press the "+" button to increase the volume.
  • Press the "− button to decrease the volume.

  • Some models might use a single button

    • Short press: Adjusts volume in increments.

    • Long press: May adjust between predefined volume levels.

The volume on Widex Bluetooth hearing aids can be adjusted with a Widex smartphone app:

1. Download the Widex Moment or Widex ToneLink App (depending on your hearing aid model).

2. Open the app and connect it with your hearing aids. Refer to your manual or the Connect and Pair section on our support page.

3. Use the volume sliders or buttons in the app to adjust the volume for one or both hearing aids.

Charging Widex hearing aids

How to charge Widex hearing aids?

  1. Use the correct charger

    Make sure you're using the designated Widex charger for your rechargeable hearing aids (e.g., Widex Moment Rechargeable).

  2. Plug the charger into a power source

    Confirm that the charger is receiving power. (Check for indicator lights if applicable.)
  3. Place the hearing aids in the charger

    Insert the hearing aids into the charging slots. Make sure the left and right hearing aids are placed in the correct slots (marked with L and R).
  4. Check the charging status

    Look for indicator lights on the hearing aids or charger. A steady light usually indicates charging, while a different color typically shows a full charge. (Refer to your model's manual.)

    - A full charge usually takes about 4 hours, providing up to 16-20 hours of use.

    - Quick charging for 30 minutes can provide several hours of extra use if needed.
  5. Remove hearing aids from the charger
    Once charged, remove the hearing aids from the charger. They'll turn on automatically turn on, ready for use.
