  • Filter-changing tool (usually included with the filters).

2. Remove the Old Filter:

  • Use the removal end of the tool to gently pull out the old filter from the hearing aid.

3. Insert the New Filter:

  • Use the new filter end of the tool to pick up a fresh filter.
  • Insert the new filter into the opening and press gently until it clicks into place.

4. Dispose of the Old Filter:

  • Properly discard the used filter.

5. Check Your Hearing Aid:

  • Ensure the filter is secure and the hearing aid is functioning properly.

  • Tips:

Replace filters regularly, typically every 1–2 weeks or when sound becomes muffled.
Handle your hearing aids carefully to avoid damaging the microphone or receiver.
Frequency of changing filters

How often should hearing aid filters be replaced?

Regular replacement:

Replace your hearing aid filters every 4 to 8 weeks to maintain optimal performance.

Signs to Replace Sooner:

  • Sound is muffled or weaker than usual.
  • Hearing aid stops working, even with a fresh battery.
  • Visible wax or debris on the filter.

Personal Factors:

  •  If you produce more earwax, you may need to replace filters more frequently.
  • Humid or dusty environments can also clog filters faster.

Routine Check:

  • Inspect filters weekly for signs of buildup.
  • Establish a regular schedule to prevent unexpected issues.

Consult Your Provider:
If unsure, ask your hearing care professional for personalized advice on replacement frequency.
