For a Charger with a Power Cable:

  • Plug the USB end of the power cable into a compatible wall adapter.
  • Insert the other end of the cable into the charger’s power port.
  • Plug the wall adapter into an electrical outlet.
  • A solid or blinking light on the charger may indicate it’s charging (refer to the user manual for details on light signals).

For a Portable Charger with a Dock or Base:

  • Place the charger on its designated charging base, aligning any charging contacts.
  • Plug the base’s power cable into an outlet.
  • Ensure any indicator light shows charging status.

Wireless Chargers:

  • Set the charger on a wireless charging pad, aligning it with the center for best contact.
  • Ensure the charging pad is plugged in, and wait for a light indicator to confirm charging.
Cleaning a charger

How to clean a hearing aid charger?

For Charging Ports and Contacts:

1. Use a dry, soft-bristled brush or a small, dry cotton swab to gently clean the charging contacts.

2. Carefully remove any dust or debris from the charging ports without pressing too hard.

3. Ensure that no particles are left on the contacts, as these can interfere with charging.

For the Charger Case (Exterior):

1. Wipe the outside of the charger with a soft, slightly damp cloth.

2. If necessary, use a mild soap solution but ensure the cloth is only damp, not wet.

3. Dry the charger immediately with a lint-free cloth.

For Wireless Chargers:

Clean the charging surface gently with a microfiber cloth.

Avoid placing any wet hearing aids on the charger after cleaning until the charger is completely dry.

Charging problem

Why my hearing aids do not charge?

Check Charger Connection: Ensure the charger is properly plugged into a power source.

Inspect for Debris: Look for dust or debris in the charging contacts on both the hearing aids and charger.

Ensure Correct Placement: Make sure the hearing aids are seated correctly in the charging slots.

Check Indicator Lights: If no lights are on, try a different power outlet or cable. Indicator lights usually signal successful charging.

Battery Lifespan: Rechargeable batteries may lose effectiveness over time. If they’re over 3-5 years old, they might need replacement.

Blinking charger

Why is my hearing aid charger blinking?

Battery Charging Error:
If the charger blinks red, it may indicate a charging error or low power.
Solution: Ensure the charger is plugged into a reliable power source. Check if the power outlet is working by plugging in another device.

Incorrect Hearing Aid Positioning:
If the charger blinks when a hearing aid is placed inside, it could be due to incorrect alignment with the charging contacts.
Solution: Remove and reposition the hearing aid securely in the charging slot, ensuring it fits correctly.

Overheating Warning:
A rapid or unusual blinking pattern could indicate overheating.
Solution: Remove the charger from any direct sunlight or hot surfaces. Allow it to cool down before trying again.

Low Charger Battery (for Portable Chargers):
If using a portable charger, blinking could mean the charger’s internal battery is low.
Solution: Plug the charger into an outlet to recharge its internal battery before using it again.
